Dale has been an avid hunter and shooter since he was a teenager. He has been building rifles and providing gunsmithing services for many years. Some of his noteworthy accomplishments include:
- 4 Gun Master in IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association). Dale holds dozens of championship trophies for local, regional, state and national level matches.
- Founding member of several Houston area IDPA clubs
- 3 Time Texas State IDPA Championship Match Director
- NRA Certified Pistol Instructor
- GSSF (Glock Sport Shooting Foundation) Member
- One of the original founders and lead instructor of Tactical Trainers, a Houston & San Antonio based training organization specializing in tactical firearms training programs for competitive shooters, CHL holders, law enforcement and military. Dale has personally trained hundreds of US shooters and has provided training internationally as well.
As an avid Glock shooter with smaller hands, Dale always struggled with trying to achieve the perfect grip and fit with the bulky Glock grips. This especially became an issue when he started competing with the larger frame 45ACP Glocks. After much frustration, Dale eventually began experimenting with different approaches to slimming and reshaping the grips of his own personal Glocks to get a better fit. Others shooters were impressed and after about 2 years of perfecting his craft on his own guns and much coaxing from fellow shooters, Dale agreed to do "a few" grip reductions and magwells for some of his shooting buddies. Of course, as more and more people were exposed to his enhancements, he began getting more and more requests and started a company called GripReductions.com.
Gary is also avid hunter spending his early years bird hunting on the plains of Kansas. He became involved in IDPA shooting shortly after getting his Concealed Carry Permit in Texas. He became an IDPA Safety Officer Instructor and travels around giving Safety Officer training to IDPA clubs in Texas and surrounding states. He has traveled to Italy on several occasions to give Safety Officer training and help run Italian IDPA National Competitions. Gary started the Tactical Shooters Club of Houston, Texas, and helped form The Tactical Shooters Club of Bologna, Italy. Some of Gary's accomplishments include:
